About The Becoming Project

Become the person you choose to be.

The Becoming Project is an education-first resource and learning platform helping boys and young men develop character, confidence, emotional intelligence, relationships, practical skills and purpose.

Our mission: equip boys and young men with the knowledge, relationships and practical experiences to understand themselves, develop their strengths, navigate challenges and become the people they choose to be.

The Becoming Project does not prescribe a single definition of masculinity. Through everyday situations, visual stories and words to practice, it offers options and room to grow, and leaves the choices with each person.

The people and perspectives behind the work

  • Michael T. Brown brings the founding vision, his experience as a parent, and a commitment to making practical relationship and safety education accessible.
  • Liberation Based Therapy brings the perspective we seek to include: dignity, agency, belonging, and freedom from shame.
  • Ordo Digital brings the technology and creative collaboration we seek to turn that vision into an engaging learning experience.

Together, this vision centers on helping people trust their voice, respect the voices of others, and build relationships where care is expressed through everyday actions.

Practiced with purpose. Carried into everyday life.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

If someone is in danger now, call 911. For everyday worries, talk with a trusted adult: a parent or guardian, school counselor, teacher, coach or doctor. These free lines are open 24/7.

If something is happening now

Call 911. Then tell a trusted adult. Stay with the person and follow the dispatcher’s instructions.

Something on this site worried you, or a lesson or answer seems wrong or unsafe? Report a concern. Leave out names and personal details. This is not an emergency line; if someone is in danger, call 911.
