1. About these terms
The Becoming Project (“Becoming”, “we”, “us”) is owned and operated by Improm2 Solutions, LLC (contact: proximitymatch@gmail.com). These Terms of Use apply to the Becoming Project website and everything on it, including the lessons, the Ask the Becoming Coach feature, My plan, the For parents page and the resource lists (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must also agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Education only, not advice or emergency help
The Becoming Project offers general education and practice about character, confidence, emotions, relationships, practical skills, safety and support. It is not legal advice, medical advice, mental health care, counseling or any other professional service, and using it does not create any professional relationship. The Becoming Project is not a crisis line or an emergency service. It cannot call anyone, see your location or monitor you.
If you or someone else is in danger or needs medical help, call 911 or your local emergency number. If someone is hurting you, or you are thinking about hurting yourself, tell a trusted adult such as a parent or guardian, school counselor, teacher or coach. You can also contact, free and 24/7: the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988), Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741), the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline (call or text 1-800-422-4453) or the Boys Town National Hotline (1-800-448-3000).
3. How content is made, and AI
Lessons are written by the Becoming Project, sometimes with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), from guidance by trusted organizations. Pictures and narration may be generated by AI and are labeled. Every lesson for anyone under 18 is reviewed and approved by a named person before it is published; lessons for ages 18 to 25 may be published after automated checks. The Coach does not use AI to answer visitors. No review is perfect: content can be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or not right for your situation.
Use the Becoming Project as a starting point, not a final answer. Talk it over with a trusted adult, and compare what you read with the trusted resources listed on the Becoming Project and with qualified professionals.
4. Your choices and responsibility
Every situation is different, and you are the best judge of what is safe for you. You are responsible for your own decisions and actions, including whether and how you use any information, wording, plan or suggestion from the Service.
The Becoming Project, its owners, creators and contributors are not responsible for the misuse of the Service or of its content, or for advice, wording or information that is misguided, mistaken, misunderstood or applied in a way it was not intended. Nothing in the Becoming Project places responsibility for harm on a person who experiences it; responsibility for harm belongs to the person who causes it.
5. Keep checking for current information
Guidance, services, phone numbers and the organizations we link to change over time. The Becoming Project’s lessons and these terms are updated as well. Always check the Becoming Project again, and confirm details with the original source, to make sure the information you rely on is up to date. We do not promise that any content is current on the day you read it.
6. Who the Becoming Project is for, and age requirements
The Becoming Project is designed for boys and young men aged 13 and older, and for parents, guardians, mentors and other trusted adults who support them.
- Under 13: the Service is not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 must not use it. A separate pathway for ages 8 to 12 is planned and will open only after a children’s privacy review and legal approval.
- Ages 13 to 17: you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these terms on your behalf. We encourage you to explore it together and to talk with them about what you learn.
- Parents and guardians: you are responsible for deciding whether the Service is right for your teen and for supervising their use of it.
The Service does not ask for your age, name or any account details. By using it, you confirm that you are 13 or older and, if you are under 18, that you have a parent or guardian’s permission.
7. What the Coach will and will not do
The Coach may be closed. When it is open, it answers with guidance written and reviewed by people, and keeps its answers age-appropriate. If a question touches on abuse, self-harm or danger, it points first to a trusted adult and to the help lines above. It will not role-play romantic or sexual scenarios, and it will not give instructions involving alcohol, vaping, drugs, weapons or dangerous challenges. Some of these questions are answered with fixed guidance instead of AI.
8. Using the Becoming Project respectfully
When you use the Service, please do not:
- share names, contact details or other information that identifies you or anyone else in the coach or anywhere else on the site;
- use the Service to harass, threaten, deceive or harm anyone, or to plan anything unlawful;
- try to get around its safety checks, overload it, break it, or access parts of it that are not public;
- copy or collect its content by automated means, or present its content as professional advice.
We may limit or block access to protect the Service or other people.
9. Other organizations and links
The Becoming Project links to and draws on independent organizations such as those listed under Trusted resources. These organizations are independent of the Becoming Project. Linking to them does not mean they endorse the Becoming Project or that we control or are responsible for their content, services or policies.
10. Content ownership, logos and trademarks
All logos, trademarks, names and copyrighted images of other organizations shown or mentioned on the Becoming Project belong to their respective owners. They are used only to identify those organizations and their resources, and their use does not imply endorsement or affiliation. The Becoming Project name, logo and original content belong to Improm2 Solutions, LLC. If you believe something on the Becoming Project uses your work or trademark improperly, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
10a. Reporting a concern
If anything on the Becoming Project seems wrong, unsafe or inappropriate, use Report a concern at the bottom of every page or email proximitymatch@gmail.com. Leave out names and personal details. Concerns are handled under our safeguarding procedure, and content may be taken down while it is checked. This is not an emergency line: if someone is in danger, call 911.
11. No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that the Service or its content will be accurate, complete, current, reliable, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Becoming Project and its owners, creators, contributors and partners will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss or harm, arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service, your reliance on any content (including AI-generated content), the misuse of the Service, or the content of any third-party site or resource.
13. New Jersey law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the Service or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, and you consent to their jurisdiction. (Governing law and venue to be confirmed in legal review.)
Some of the disclaimers and limits in these terms may not apply to you if the law where you live does not allow them. Nothing in these terms limits any right that cannot be limited under applicable law, and if any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version and date at the top show when they last changed. Using the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms, so please check this page from time to time.
